  • Are You An Insect?
Your soul does not die. Your soul is a part of God, immortal and everlasting. We are all part of the Eternal Whole, God. We all return to God. A person is one of God’s tools. We are the carriers of God’s knowledge. God is not all knowing. He even questions Himself. He wants to learn. He is curious. He has set up His Plan of the universe. He has set up His His system of evolution. He lets competition to survive create His versatile tools. God's Plan is the only Intelligent Design.
  • Doggerel by the Blogging Blooker, . . . er, Blooking Blogger?
Upon viewing an article in a national magazine that called a book written by a blogger a "blook", some questions came floating in from the black recesses of my mind.
  • Help Your Child of Any Age Cope With Moving
I was lucky as a child. My family only moved four times during my school years. The critical years between 2nd grade and 8th grade were spent in only one location. Millions of children are not so lucky. They must deal with repeated, frequent moves by their family. There is a reason for the cliché about “army brats”. Frequent moves do effect children. The real question is, what can a parent do to lessen these effects?
  • How to Write Better Titles: Add Bees, Bears, Honey, Sex & Flowers
I don’t know about you, but when I first try to think about a title for an article, my first effort is always a “Bleeh!” Which may not be a word, but does describe the result. Sometimes it is only a matter of a few minutes, and other times it can be days before a good title comes rising up into consciousness. I do know that every title needs something that attracts a reader, adds interest, has “zing”, and clearly has “POP”
  • Is My Child "At Risk"?
After a short period of training, any adult can walk to any playground and within 15 seconds spot one or more children “at risk”. Teachers, playground supervisors, and teacher assistants have to be formally trained. Pedophiles learn from each other, or by plenty of practice.
  • Jesus, Part 2 - Blot out the Childhood of Jesus
Jesus Was A Jew. Jesus was born, raised, and educated as a Jew. Jesus lived at a place and at a time when scholarship was admired. He studied at the Temple. He was a scholar of His religion. Hebrew was the language of the Temple. It is very likely that Jesus spoke at least Aramaic, Greek, and Hebrew. Aramaic was the common language. Almost nothing is known of the childhood of Jesus.
  • Jesus, Part 3 - Teen Jesus
Do you consider yourself a Jew, a member of the Hebrew faith? If you are a nominal Christian, why not? Jesus was born, raised, and educated as a Jew. It is very likely that Jesus spoke Aramaic, Greek, and Hebrew. Aramaic was the common language. Hebrew was the language of religious instruction. Greek was the language of commerce. He, and His father, Joseph were carpenters and possibly stone cutters. Even less is known about the early adulthood of Jesus than His childhood.
  • Jesus, Part 6 - On A Tightrope?
Despite an early obscure death, Jesus is the most successful, most famous Jew in history. He was born and raised in the Middle East which had been a pressure cooker for religion for thousands of years. Reformers rise up out of the obscurity of the masses of humanity as a suddenly growing wild weed. The Roman military was well versed with dealing out death. Crucifixion was a terror tactic. Christ offered Himself as a martyr.
  • Life After death? Part 2 Limbo, Purgatory & Hell
I suggest that you might reconsider your life. You might reconsider how you want to live your life. You might reconsider the place of religion in your life. You should reconsider the concept of Heaven and your place in it. After that, Go with God. Just as an idle thought, a questioning if you will. What if Heaven is boring? Like maybe Paradise is boring from its perfection?
  • Mudbug Politicians & Getting Cheap Gas Again
Here’s the prescription for low priced gasoline. RAISE TAXES on gas. No, it is not really crazy. Read on to find out how it really would work.
  • Refusal to Work: Chores, or School Work
This may simply be a child’s way of arriving at “burn out”. It is mostly short term, and rare. Kids are joiners and followers. They buy into the plan of doing what we tell them to do in order “to grow up”, but once in a while questions arise. It may also simply be that a child also needs a vacation.
  • The Most Important (The Real) Fundamentals of Successful Writing: Writer’s Comfort
Comfort at your workstation, or office. Don’t make this mistake, I do stress using your time efficiently. Using “waste” time. Using “down” time. Using “dead” time. Writer’s do not need any additional excuses to “kill” any additional time. Get off your fundament. Pay attention to your work station chair. Adjust the light level of your monitor. Do your original work in a large font size. Make your work space equipment work for you.
  • True Tools for Writers: The Language of Sharing, Love, and Pain
All of us find ourselves delaying doing what we really know we ought to be doing and really want to be doing more of: writing. Procrastination gets to all of us from time to time. It is a kind of fear of the keyboard. We want it, desire it, and yet we are afraid of it at the same time. Each of us deals with this phenomenon in different ways. As a writer, you need to employ emotion. You have to feel emotion. Emotion starts the words to flowing. Emotion is a direct connection with language
  • Understanding the Nature of God, Part IV Would God exist without Man?
What might be Man’s role in relation to God and God’s unknown final Plan? We are only one of the many life forms on this planet. We may well be God’s experiment with intelligence. The simple answer is that probably we humans are simply just another species, one of God’s many animal experiments, and He’ll see how we turn out.
  • What To do When Your Child says, "I Have No Friends?"
This is a serious matter. This is a cry for help. Either there has been something like a family, or personal move that would cause such a circumstance; or there is another crisis with which you must deal. You must help your child.
  • Winning the War over Haircuts and Make-Up, Avoiding Unnecessary Battles
What do you really want as a parent? Simple control? Respect? Proof that you are louder, meaner, and controlling? A stronger child-adult? Win the current battle, or the long term war?
  • Writing About What You See
As a command for an exercise in writing, writing about what you see, can have its perils. Yours might be a dull environment. You might feel dull. It might be a dull day. It is then up to you, the writer, to bring to that environment a degree of excitement and action. You must bring it to life to entertain your audience. You must convey emotion and the “vibes” of living interactions. Below is one of my interpretations, for 03/09/06.
