You Are A Disappointment to God?

By: George Wallace

What then is religious sin? Sin is that which interferes with God’s Plan. What is religious sin, especially if God is not going to punish you for your sins? Why can’t “sin” be as simple as God’s eventual disappointment at the results you have created of your life?

Remember that time one of your children disappointed you? How did you feel about that child? Did you stop loving your child? Did you reject your child? Did you chuck him, or her, out the door, and say, "Go away. Don't come back. You are on your own. Come see me when you are twenty-five years old. We'll discuss things then. Goodbye."

Of course, not.

Nor does God reject you, or throw away your soul when you are a disappointment to Him. When God recovers your soul after your death and merges it with Him, do you want to be a “good and useful tool”, one of “exceptional value”, or one that just did not accomplish much?

Sin is that which interferes with God’s Plan. Your time on Earth is a finite variable. You don’t know how much you have. If you waste your time, you can never get it back.

Why should you waste even a single hour of a single day of your life? God does not waste. You should not waste. You are expected to strive, work hard, and learn a lot. Stretch your mental capacities with effort beyond the average. Build your body of knowledge about the world and God's Laws through study of mathematics and science.

Yes, there are times when we must do the most appropriate and important human things. Things like rest and relaxation, sex and eating, sleep and recreation.

Most wasted time is due to simple sloth, or lack of planning.

Use some down time to plan, so that less of your time is wasted. Plan to learn. Plan to read. Plan to study. Plan to write. Plan every quarter-hour of your day.

Follow your plan. Do not forget time for meditation, recreation, prayer, time for fun, time for others, and time for needed sleep. The key to success in reordering your life is planning and following the plan.

His pithy comments and suggestions for a return to a God-centered personal religion will interest everyone.
