In the war on terror, either we win, or we die. These are the stark choices that we face. The terrorists are dedicated religious fanatics. They can only see one or the other. They can only hear one or the other. We Americans and Westerners may not want to believe that this is true. Wanting, like wishing, and the truth are seldom close together. We of the Western cultures must choose. Do we choose life? Do we choose death? These choices that we make will also be made for our parents and children. Life or death. I think it reasonable to assume that these two choices are not your preferences. Still, the facts of the real world will force you to choose. Win, or Die? There is no middle ground with terrorists. They believe that in the long sweep of history, they will win. There are no possible negotiations with terrorists. What are you going to negotiate about? Your preferences of the methods of your death? Gunshot, improvised explosive device, or beheading? Perhaps you want to wait, to try to out wait events in some weak-kneed belief that you can make the terrorists change their minds? Perhaps you only want to wait until some slavering religious mental case chooses to use an atomic device, nerve gas, or other chemical toxins? The world learned in the 1930’s that appeasement does not work. Bacteria cannot be reasoned with, or appeased. Antibiotics deal with the problem. Either we win this one, or we die. I guess that we could just give up, surrender, and simply convert en-mass to a theocratic form of Islamic government. Frankly, that does not hold much appeal for me. How about you? My friend, that only leaves the choice of winning. I much prefer winning as opposed to conversion, or losing. Unfortunately, winning against terrorists means that the terrorists, their fellow travelers, and their supporters must die. This also usually means that the terrorists will not voluntarily fall down without a struggle and peacefully march off this mortal coil. Simply put, they will fight like Hell. But you say “Wait a minute, how can you be so sure that there is no middle ground? Some way to achieve peaceful co-existence with Hamas, Hezbollah, and al Queda? These people cannot be so totally unreasonable. We’ve got to try to find a way.” In reply, I hasten to say, “How? Peace will only come when one side, or the other, is dead. Dead is very peaceful. If that is your choice for you and yours, be my guest.” I saw the videos of Islamists of all ages and both sexes dancing in the streets around the world in utter joy after they heard the news of 9-11. Joy at the terrible deaths of 3,000 men, women, and children burned alive, torn apart, and crushed. Joy because unsuspecting Americans died. This was not a new reaction in Islamic countries. This kind of behavior by fanatics and popular attitude was acceptable and pleasing to them. It seemed similarly pleasing to the leaders of their religion. I saw no interviews with leading Islamic clerics condemning this kind of murderous behavior. I saw no Islamic clerics refuting the idea that a fanatic terrorist would go to Heaven for such acts, past, or future. No, this kind of action, the indiscriminate murder of American men, women and children was pleasing to them. When dealing with people with this mindset, this attitude, this religious fervor, there are no easy choices. It seems that there are no alternatives except to kill them. Kill them one at a time. Kill them in groups. Kill them in job lots. Kill them in crowds. That is their plan for you. It is time to stop whining like a sick puppy when civilians die as the result of someone protecting themselves from terrorists. The alternative is to allow the terrorist to kill first. Stop. Quit. Desist lamenting and sorrowing when the supporters, fellow travelers, and their deliberately exposed children are killed as collateral damage resulting from necessary and legitimate actions against terrorists. These persons were callously offered up as blood sacrifice. In truth, many volunteered for the “honor”, or the money to be derived for their families from their blood sacrifice. Save the lamenting and sorrowing for the indiscriminate victims of the terrorists.

His pithy comments and suggestions for a return to a God-centered personal religion will interest everyone.
