Suicide Without A Sanity Test

By: George Wallace

To commit suicide, in most circumstances, and send yourself to God early is, at least, slightly arrogant. He might not want you yet. Given the volume, God may have set up an automatic sorting system, perhaps similar to an e-mail auto responder. Maybe He uses Angels? Surely God has more important things to do than to decide the fate of every early arrival?

However, we do honor those who lose their lives trying to save others. Police and Firefighters, Search and Rescue, the accidentally coincidental person that just happened to be there. The person who decided that personal responsibility forced him, or her to act. That is purposefully going in harm’s way. It can even be suicidal.

To purposely choose to risk death, or to choose to die in order to preserve a grandchild, a child, a family member, another person, or the tribe is considered honorable. Many people would consider a parent that didn't at least attempt to save their child from some danger as a poor parent, possibly even a sinful parent.

Many cultures in history have had the expectation that the very elderly will “go willingly out into the cold of night”. Especially so in times of short supplies and starvation. This was to preserve the remaining food supplies for the future of the tribe, the soldiers, the hunters, and the children.

Social laws against suicide are I believe based on the reproduction, population increase, and safety in numbers of politics. We stack the deck against suicide in so many ways. We force people who are determined to end their own life into death by cop, or faked "accidents". These accidents end up killing too many other people who had no intention of departing life early.

In today's crowded world, we do not need the extra people. We cannot even adequately feed, house, and clothe the population we already have. I think it makes sense to have a quiet, honorable way out for the determined with whatever personal, free will, reason; and one without a means, health, or sanity test.

Since you are a tool of God, waste of your life by inaction and lack of learning, or deliberate suicide, or murder of another person are a few of the religious sins you may commit. These sins may also be crimes according to your political or civil society.

God may decide you have not learned enough. God might well send you right back to try life again. Possibly in the same body, or possibly another. Being human may be painful, but the life experience of an animal, or a tree might be worse. Especially when lightning strikes, or the lumberjack comes around.

I am content to leave that decision to God.
