You can practice self-hypnosis to help handle your stress issues. And this can be accomplished with music or without. To begin, locate a safe, quiet place where you are able to relax and listen to your own thoughts. A self hypnotic state is basically achieved by letting your thoughts go naturally. Do not be mislead by the movies and TV shows where you see people wearing lampshades or someone raise their fingers. You are not doing this kind of stuff here. Instead, all you have to do is to find peace in your mind. Self hypnotic sessions of about 10 minutes or long is pretty effective to get your mind relax. During a work break, you can do another 5 minutes of self hypnosis to get yourself recharged and energized. Basic steps to following when carrying out self hypnosis: 1. Prepare, then Relaxation Have an end in your mind before you start your self hypnosis session. Write down a goal that you want to accomplish. It could be wanting to complete all your work within 2 hours without any distractions like emails and irritating calls. Choose a nice spot and relax your body. Once your body relaxes, your mind will follow suit and relax. Start from your head and move down from here. Close your eyes and lay your head on a nice and comfortable pillow. Next relax your shoulders, arms and hands. After that, move on to your stomach and to your lower body which is your legs. Go slow and steady, controlling your breathing, too, slowing it and calming yourself, letting go of stress as you exhale. 2. Suggestions As your mind relaxes, focus on what you have prepared and gently tell yourself your affirmation statements, visualizing them in the process. See yourself completing your work, uninterrupted by phone calls, email checking, kids running in and out of the house, your spouse calling out to you for something, etc. Instead, see yourself quietly enjoying your work, getting everything done promptly in your three-hour time block. 3. Rejuvenation and Awakening After you have completed step 2, let's move on to step 3, the final step. When you have deeply affirmed your goals to yourself, it is time to wake your mind and body up. Move slowly like you are doing a warm up. Stay positive and smile and tell yourself that you will be awake and energized at the count of three. Count and snap out of the trance. There is still more on hypnosis than this. Read and do more research on hypnosis to improve yourself.
