Nine More Proper Behaviors

By: George Wallace

(1) Early humans likely scavenged large predator kills for meat scraps, and especially for the marrow that could be extracted by breaking the larger bones to get at the energy of the calorie-rich fat. Using scraps of hide to carry back a larger load than could be managed with just two hands. This facilitated sharing of this important food stuff with the group. Helping the group helps you and yours survive.

(2) We are expected to enjoy and have sex as often as we can.

(3) We are expected to love and care for our children and teach them to survive.

(4) We are expected to teach our children to survive.

(5) We are expected to seek pleasure.

(6) We are expected to participate in song and music with the group. Music is a part of every culture, and likely goes back to group sing-a-longs used to mark tribal territories in the treetops.

(7) We are expected to make our own decisions. The guy urging you to run past the leopard won’t be paying the price of your failure to be fast enough. His saying, ‘Sorry!’ will not convince the leopard to let you go.

(8) We are expected to question ourselves. An unquestioned life is hardly worth living. Yes, we all make decisions, and yes, we all frequently make mistakes. A mistake is just that, a mistake. A learning opportunity if you survived it. Learn from it. Don’t do that again.

Change what you thought and what you did. If your action caused injury to another, do what you can to make restitution. Remember, too, that restitution is not for your victim, it is for you, how you feel about yourself, and perhaps the final value of your soul.

(9) What is the incentive to be Good? Rephrase the question, what message do you want to take to God? What do you want God to think about you when He has taken your measure?

Are you suddenly going to change all of your behaviors because you now understand that perhaps Hell does not exist.

Because now that you know you will not spend an eternity roasting in Hell if you live a bad life?

Are you going to throw away everything that your parents and relatives taught you?

Are you now going to become a liar, a thief, a murderer, or become insatiably promiscuous?

Are you going to suddenly stop being a responsible person?

If this is true, then you have been living a lie.

His pithy comments and suggestions for a return to a God-centered personal religion will interest everyone.
