Murphy's Law dictates that when you need your printer the most it will seem to have a mind of its own. You hit several buttons on your printer with no response. The printer has gone haywire and you are wits end. Before you throw the printer out the window to its death, take a look at the following printing problems that could be at the root of this situation. Any hardware attached to your computer, such as your printer, needs directions from the computer on what jobs to perform. You computer needs to have a print driver installed that can communicate with your specific printer. It is important to have the correct printer driver or your printer won't work. If you printer used to work, but now does not, it may be to a crash or power surge on your system. This may have caused your printer driver to be uninstalled. If you have a new printer then you will need to install the printer driver for that new printer. Sometimes you will find that paper gets jammed up inside of the printer and this will cause it not to work. You must carefully remove the paper and then hit the paper feed button to get it going again. Check your paper. Did it get jammed in the printer the last time you tried to print? Did you pull it out in frustration? This may have left small particles of paper in the printer that you need to remove carefully. You can hit the paper feed button once you have removed all paper debris. During the course of the day, it is not uncommon for things to get hectic. It is an easy thing to disconnect the connection between the printer and your computer. Without this connection, your computer is no longer telling the printer what to do. It is probably safest to first shut down your entire computer before reattaching the connection. On some systems you can get away without taking this extra step. Having troubles with your printer can cause you to reach for extra-strength Tylenol. Remember to remain calm when your printer goes haywire even if you are tempted to throw it out the window. Go through the possible printer problems listed above to help you print your documents once again. Dealing with the moodiness of your printer can be avoided if you go through the possible causes listed above. Of course printing problems occur at the worst moment possible, but you can make life better by remaining cool and collected. Try this solutions and if they don't work then maybe your printer is ready for the printing graveyard.
