Life is Too Short for Perfection

By: George Wallace

How you choose to live your life is your choice based on your first assumption, or answer to the question: Does God Exist? Your answer to this question decides all else. Early on, I said that my faith is a form of religion that is not very comforting. It isn’t. This concept of God is not cuddly. A personal responsibility form of religion and religious practice is simply not a nice, warm, safe place in which to exist spiritually. It is cold and you have to light your own fires.

You have to take care of yourself. You are likely going to be alone in your religious practice. God will not take care of you. God promises you nothing. He sends you no messages. Not when you are awake. Not when you are asleep and in a dream. He demands nothing of you while you live. He only has expectations for you. It is all up to you and your freewill choices. All such ideas to the contrary are delusions promoted by human beings that do not have your best interests in mind. They only have their own interests in mind as they try to order your life.

Remember, your service to God is the accumulation of your lifetime of experiences. God only takes note of you and your life after you have lived it and you are dead. You will only be lifeless meat, a few pounds of organic fertilizer.

After our death, no one goes to Purgatory. Purgatory does not exist. No one goes to Hell. Hell does not exist. We all go to God. God exists. We all go to Heaven. God exists. God Is.

In any reasonable lifetime it can be expected that every person will make some mistakes. Life is too short for perfection. O.K., learn from your mistakes. Change something in your life. Balance the mistakes with better choices. You can’t undo what you have done.

You can only balance it with something better on the other side of the scale. Forgiveness is not possible before you are dead. Forgiveness is not possible after you are dead. Your life is your life. After your death, your life was your life. Nothing that you did in life can be changed. You are responsible for your actions in life.

If you violated the laws of God, God will deal with you in His Way. If you compromised His Plan, God will deal with you in His Way. Expect it to happen to you. If you violate the laws of society, society will deal with you in its way. Expect it to happen to you. Deal with it.

Know yourself. Throw away your illusions about yourself. Know what you are and are not. Acknowledge your fears and weaknesses and why you have them. Make new choices. When you feel the need to step back to reassess, understand the why of your action. Know yourself. When you are confident, understand the why of your confidence and action. Know yourself.

His pithy comments and suggestions for a return to a God-centered personal religion will interest everyone.
