Islam: You Are Responsible for Your Government, Your Culture, and Your Religion

Islam: You are responsible for your government. If you do not like what your government does, you are responsible for making the changes that will make you happy. That was what our American Revolution was all about.

That does not mean that we think today that everything about our government is perfect. Far from it. What it does mean is that we have institutionalized the process by which we can change our government peacefully, through the electoral process. We did not have that choice in 1775. Many Moslems do not have that choice in 2006. You simply have to look at your alternatives and decide what, if anything, you are going to do about the situation?

From my reading I am led to believe that many Moslems around the world do not like their governments. That they do not like the dictators that stand upon their necks. Are those “leaders” any more repressive than King George III, who at the time was the head of the largest empire on Planet Earth? Do those leaders have an army or navy larger than the army and navy available to George III?

I am led to believe that many Moslems do not like Western Culture. This may be so. This may be a lie. I suspect what is true is that Western Culture with its materialism, hedonism, and liberalism is extremely attractive to Islamic youth and your repressed minorities. I suspect that a huge majority of Islamic youth feels like a round peg being hammered into a square hole. I suspect that they resent the pounding and the limitations placed upon them, especially when they can so easily see the more comfortable alternatives.

There is a simple alternative to going to war with the West. Turn off your televisions. Turn off your radios. Don’t look at Western TV programming. Don’t listen to Western radio programs. Don’t go to see Western movies. Don’t allow the importation of Western music, jeans, soft drinks, porno movies on tape, or on DVD’s. Don’t allow the sale of foods that reflect Western Culture. Do what you think you have to do to eject all things Western from your lands and culture. Don’t let the poison of Western Culture touch your children’s minds, or bodies.

Go live in the desert in your tents, drink camel and goat milk, and spend your lives with your face in the dust if that is what you believe is proper for you and your children to do. Then have the common decency to leave us to stew in our own problems without you.

You are protesting too much. You are protesting because you are losing the culture war. You must fear that you will lose the struggle to inculcate your religion into your children, as well. Your children are seeing Western Culture and are learning how to ask questions. Their attitude must be irritating. They must be asking penetrating intelligent questions about culture, and mores, and likely religion. Those questions are making you uncomfortable. They are uncomfortable because there are no easy answers, and sometimes the answers are not rational. You are dragging out the religious differences and creating mountain ranges out of them, creating a cultural war, because your cultural ideas are losing the battle for your children‘s souls.

From this fear comes the anger that leads to violence and murder of innocents. You are cowards. You war against women and children by preference. You do not war against the trained military in your own countries. You do not truly believe in your own culture. You cannot truly believe in your professed religion, or you would not act in the ways we of the West see, feel, and are injured by.
