Injustice and Shame at DOJ

By: older fossil

In reference to the front page story in the June 25th edition of the Arizona Daily Sun about criminal activities at the Department of Justice: can anyone explain why criminal activities as described and perpetrated at the Department of Justice itself are to go unpunished? The story reports that USAG Mukasey “will continue to make clear” that such activities by department employees is “impermissible and unacceptable.”
I can’t think of any clearer way to clarify the issue than by use of arrests, handcuffs, perp walks, bookings, arraignments, and trials.
The story provides the number of injured American citizens as being 163 honest citizens discriminated against, deprived of employment, and having endured lessened careers because of their political views.
Why isn’t the DOJ assisting these injured individuals to seek redress in the civil courts, if USDOJ is so namby-pamby in its efforts to enforce US laws. The current employment status of the criminals should not be an issue. Is there some obscure statute of limitations for “white collar crime” because it is only “good old boys day” at DOJ? This is not even a light tap on the wrist for a serious crime.
The nogoodnik that knocks off a convenience store for $50 is at a much higher risk of severe punishment. The former DOJ employees must be on the positive receiving end of the wonderful world of compassionate conservatism.
Is there no shame at DOJ?
