What is copywriting? Copywriting creates the words that are used to advertise or describe a product, service, or person either in hard copy, as in a newspaper or magazine, or on a website. Copywriting is used to outline the opportunities of the services described.
As in any field there is good copywriting and amateur copywriting. Anyone with the ability to string two words together can say they are a copywriter. However, there is more to the world of copywriting than just writing words. If the copywriter is not totally conversant with the topic a certain amount of research needs to be done. Then the results of this research have to be written in such a way that the writer will not be accused of plagiarism, the content is informative, is readable, grammatically correct, and advertises the client's product or services effectively by using keywords properly without overusing them.

If a copy writer is being paid $1 - $3 for a 500 word article why would they spend the time researching a subject adequately and taking the time to ensure that it is all the client is after? It is simply not worth the time or effort that is involved. If a professional copywriting job is needed suitable remuneration is also expected.
There are many copywriters who will work for this very low rate of pay. They are usually non-native English speakers whose knowledgeof grammar and spelling is not always very high. However, they are able to produce bulk articles cheaply, they have the exchange rate on their side.
To get a really professional copywriting job done with all the above requirements met it is essential that those hiring the copywriters need to understand that this work does not come cheaply. The base rate for a 500 word article would be $15. For this amount a copywriter is prepared to research, write, proof read and edit their work. The client can justly expect and get a polished job.
The copywriting on a website is what sells the person, product or service to the world at large. If this has not been done properly no one will come to the site and buy the product or service. It is just not worthwhile getting the job done as quickly and cheaply as possible, for in the long run it will have to be done again!
